Interesting sentence…

For once, I learned something sort of cool at school. During English/Language Arts, my teacher presented us with the phrase “woman without her man is nothing” She asked us to add any punctuation to it without adding or changing any words. Go ahead and do this now.

I wrote down the sentence as “Woman: without her man, is nothing.” All of the males in the class wrote down very similar sentences. But the majority of the girls in the class wrote, “Woman: without her, man is nothing.” Apparently, how you rewrite the sentence is based on your gender. Males and females have different opinions on whether the woman needs the man or the man needs the woman.

Latino + Politics…

Well, today I took the National Latin Exam, and let me tell you. It was pretty easy… although it came with some very strict rules.  It felt too much like an intense state test, even though it doesn’t count for anything. Apparently, it was actually supposed to be, um, fun. At the moment, I’m watching the Democratic Debate, which abruptly interrupted the Uconn basketball game I was originally watching… As you may have learned from yesterday’s post, I am an Obama supporter. Shocking, Yes I know. But I’m not necessarily a Hilary-hater, so don’t get on my case quite yet. While I do believe Hilary has some good ideas, I believe that Obama is the inspiration that this country needs…  ph2007072400927.jpg Credits to the Washington Post for the INTENSE picture…

What a (boring!) Day…

My first day of school was nothing short of dull. Almost nothing happened today, since we’re just during state test prep. I have the National Latin Exam tomorrow and state tests starting next week. I also had to break the news to my friends that I’m going to a new school next year. While I’m not actually moving, I’m still going to another school that’s much farther away. Hopefully, it will be a bit more exciting than where I’m going to now. Oh well, I guess change is usually for the better.
